One coat will produce a translucent finish allowing the wood grain to really show through. A 2nd coat increases the opacity giving a richer deeper colour and a 3rd coat will produce a hard gloss finish.

This is a protective water-repellent coating. If your timber isn't treated with a preservative then depending on the type of wood and product, you may want to use the Wood Preserver ++ first.
